Do you think stores will now always require physical distancing?

No; they wont, because customers won't stand for it. Customers are already getting fed up with physical distancing in stores.

Physical distancing should continue until 50% of people are vaccinated before allowed to be used. I expect physical distancing will become normal until next year at least.

In retrospect, moderate physical distancing is really not such a bad idea. We do not live in mosh pits.

Yes, the pandemic is not going to end until sometime in the 2030s. You have to remember that a vaccine typically takes 5-10 years to effectively be made, usually more along the 10 year mark. On top of this, it will take an additional 3 years to get it widely available to the majority of the world. The pandemic will likely not end until the mid 2030s.
